Client Testimonials

It is always important to know what clients think about the Lawyer they have instructed to deal with their case which may well be one of the most important periods in their lifetime. Here are some instances of particular cases which Robert Harvey has handled in the past and the client's personal view of the service that he gave whilst handling their case.

Darren - Road Traffic Accident (Cyclist)

Darren

In 2003 Darren was seriously injured when he was hit by a large 4x4 vehicle whilst he was riding his cycle. Darren sustained multiple injuries, particularly to his head, face teeth and neck.

During the course of the case Robert Harvey arranged for the insurers to pay for extensive orthodontic treatment and following all the treatment Robert settled his claim.

Darren and his partner then wrote to Robert at the conclusion of the claim and here are a few of their comments:-

We are writing to express our sincere gratitude for all your help and support over the past five years. It has not been an easy time for either of us and our lives have changed dramatically since that day. However, your support, dedication and pure professionalism, as well as your sense of humour, have made a very difficult time and situation much easier to cope with. You kept us up-to-date regularly and always explained things thoroughly and we were never in doubt as to what was happening or going to happen. You always supported us 100% and valued our thoughts, feelings and decisions throughout what has been and emotional and exhausting journey.

Once again, thank you so much for all you have done for us, we could not have got through it without you.

Francis - Road Traffic Accident (Pedestrian)

Francis

Francis was walking home in the early hours of one morning. He crossed a very well lit road and was just a few feet away from the kerb when he was struck by a taxi. The driver of the taxi was clearly not paying attention and as a result, Francis sustained multiple injuries which included injuries to his head, arms, legs and neck.

Francis was in intensive care for some considerable time and underwent many surgical procedures. He sustained some brain damage and this impaired his ability to speak properly and required therapists to help in this respect. He sustained injuries to his left arm, as a result he lost a great deal of use in the same arm. He also had permanent problems with walking and balance.

After an extensive period of treatment the claim progressed and proceedings were issued. Following these steps negotiations began and Robert Harvey then achieved a settlement of the claim. As a result his wife, Maxine, was able to organise the purchase of a bungalow and this was adapted in various ways. Francis' day to day quality of life has now improved quite dramatically.

On Francis' behalf his wife Maxine wrote and made some comments as to the service provided by Robert and states:-

Some five years ago we were thrown into what can only be described as a nightmare. We were told that we should get a Lawyer and were given Robert's name by the Police Officer in charge of Francis' accident. It was the best recommendation we could have been given. He did a wonderful job for us. He was kind and understanding and always at the end of a phone whenever I needed to talk. I would not hesitate in recommending Robert to anyone looking for a good Lawyer and I cannot thank him enough for everything he has done for us.

Tony - Occupiers Liability Claim

Tony

Tony was walking along a public pavement when a tree fell down from adjacent land owned by the local authority. The area had not been maintained properly and as a result of this lack of maintenance the tree collapsed and cause Tony head injuries. Fortunately, these were not serious injuries and Robert was able to negotiate a fairly swift settlement of this claim.

Tony wrote and said:-

I was very grateful to Robert who took on my claim and he got it sorted.

Tony - 2005

Peggy - Road Traffic Accident (Pedestrian)

Peggy

Peggy was in her mid 80's when she sustained a serious accident when she was hit by a motor vehicle being driven by someone who did not see that she was walking across the entrance to the small private road from which he was driving his car. According to Peggy, she said that the driver has stopped to allow her to walk across and as she took a step off the pavement to walk across the entrance, he then shot forward. Liability was denied first.

Peggy sustained very serious injuries which subsequently resulted in a hip replacement and several long periods in hospital.

Despite her age, Peggy was, prior to the accident, extremely independent. She ran her own home, went on holidays and did her own shopping. Following the accident she could do none of these things.

The claim progressed, liability was subsequently conceded and a settlement negotiated which included a fairly substantial sum towards paying for care and assistance. This would be over and above the care and assistance that the family could give and had given up to the time of the settlement of the claim.

Peggy wrote of Robert:-

Just to say thank you for all your help and kindness to me. The money is going to make a big difference to my life and hopefully I will be able to get about more and maybe walk better. Once again, thank you Robert.

Ronald - Occupiers Liability Claim

Ronald

In 1998 Ronald was injured when he went to his local building society. Ronald was a Cerebral Palsy sufferer but was able to walk with the aid of two walking sticks. As he entered the premises the very heavyweight door closed dramatically on his knee causing substantial ligament damage.

As Ronald was already disabled because of his condition, the injury to his knee compounded his physical problems in a significant way. Robert Harvey was instructed and the claim was disputed throughout the matter right to the trial at court. The trial judge found in favour of Ronald and liability was established 100%. An award for compensation was made which reflected the impact of this injury upon Ronald's pre existing condition.

As a result he was awarded damages which included the cost of a new lightweight wheelchair, an electronic buggy and an improved motor vehicle to be able to carry the buggy or wheelchair. The insures disputed all aspects of the claim but Ronald with the assistance of Robert Harvey and Counsel instructed, the claim was fully successful.

Ronald's comments on Robert Harvey's assistance are as follows:-

Robert took on my claim and fought the same all the way to the Judge. We were entirely successful and I put this down to Robert's professional and thorough help that he gave me throughout the case. He was very supportive and he continued with the matter despite the opposition to the claim.

The claim was fully successful and as a result I was able to purchase various items mentioned in the Trial Judgement which I would not have had if Robert had not taken on the case on which he achieved this successful outcome.
