Ryan was first called to the Bar in July 2008 by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn after having completed his BVC, following his completion of his law degree, attaining First Class Honours from the University of Kent. Ryan cross-qualified and was admitted as a Solicitor in November 2011 and, with effect from 30th November 2012, is a Member of the Law Society’s Children Panel.

Ryan runs a varied caseload of both private and public family law matters, with a particular interest and bias in Public Law Children Act Proceedings representing parents, extended family members, foster carers/adopters and children on instructions from their Guardian. Ryan has conducted proceedings in the Family Proceedings Court, County Court and High Court. He has also represented parties in cases appearing in the Court of Appeal.

Ryan is an enthusiastic lawyer who is committed to client care and to maintaining a high standard for all of his clients. Wherever possible, he will conduct the majority of his own advocacy to ensure clients receive continuity and consistency.

Prior to joining DSD in May 2010, Ryan was employed by a local firm of solicitors in which he gained experience in all areas of Family Law including, Divorce, Ancillary Relief, Residence and Contact disputes, as well as Injunctions and personal protection.
